Description About the Ridgegear RGL5R Restraint Lanyard – Single Leg Rope Restraint Lanyard: The Ridgegear RGL5R Restraint Lanyard – Single Leg Rope Restraint Lanyard can only be used for fall restraint. This is because no shock absorption is built into the system. If there is any possibility that a fall could occur, a fall arrest product is required. 11mm kernmantle rope is used to manufacture this RGL5/R lanyard. This provides greater strength as well as superior resistance to wear when compared to webbing. It should never be used to extend a fall arrest product, only for fall restraint. The RGL5R is a restraint lanyard, and is available in three standard lengths: 1m, 1.3m & 1.8m to act as a leash for an operative working at height to be prevented from a risk of fall. It is important to understand the principles of “fall restraint” as the RGL5R can only be used for Fall Restraint, as there is no shock absorbsion built into the system. If there is any possibility of an operative falling, a Fall Arrest lanyard Must be used.
